Project Description

Challenge

A regional sand mining operation was facing rising energy costs and mounting pressure to reduce its carbon footprint. With heavy equipment running daily and expanding operations, the facility’s energy demand was both massive and unpredictable. Traditional utility power left them exposed to escalating rates and provided no path toward long-term sustainability.

Solution

Sun Energy Today designed and deployed a utility-scale solar farm paired with advanced graphene-based energy storage. The project delivers consistent, cost-stable power while balancing peak demand, reducing reliance on the grid, and future-proofing the mine’s operations. By structuring long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), Sun Energy Today secured buyers for excess capacity, turning the project into both an energy solution and a revenue-generating asset.

Today, the sand mine benefits from a reliable, clean power source that supports heavy industrial operations, reduces operating expenses, and creates an ESG advantage in a competitive industry.
